A Day in My Life
What a day would look like
It’s part of what we do getting students involved in the everyday tasks of running the project. From helping design and decorate our rooms to setting up the equipment, everyone is involved no matter how small – we want everyone to be part of our journey.
We have to have some direction so below gives you an idea of what to expect.
Although the structure stays the same across the sessions, some of the content may change depending on what the group or individual prefers. For example, some students prefer the academic work in the morning, some in the afternoon – so we swap.
1. When you arrive
We like to take 10 minutes to settle so we can have a chat about daily life and ensure we’re all feeling ok for the day. Students have a choice in this and there’s no pressure to get involved – we would like to hear from you when you’re ready.
2. Morning period
We start our learning with Maths, English & PSHE often done in groups with individual support if required. This is done to help student learning and not to impose with a heavy burden – we work at your pace.
3. Late morning
Time for the arts whether it be something students are working on as a project and/or activities for the arts award or AQA.
4. After lunch
Continue to work on the arts which is followed by free time where students often take part in groups games or online appropriate games.

When we mention the arts it could be art, music or digital drawing.
A few facts
All learners will visit one of our sites before starting on placement because we need to know if we’re the right place.
On the first day we will go through an induction to help learners understand what to expect whilst with us and what we would expect from them.
Students have a skills booklet which staff complete at the end of each day so we can see how everyone is getting on.
We’re happy for any art or music to be kept or for given to someone for gifts.
SORRY we have a no smoking or vaping policy.
SORRY there are no phones to be used in session.
