We understand that for some children and young people it is not the right time in life to prioritise their learning. Our engagement programmes are delivered with room for our students to work on confidence, esteem, build on self acceptance or be supported with issues affecting them. These programmes start in small groups and often lead in to wider peer groups in preparation for returning to a classroom environment.
The activities are very practical and can be tailored to needs through any of our arts and media forms. Timescales differ for each placement and are reviewed on a regular basis. All children and young people are allocated a support worker.
My Life Project is an approved centre for Arts Awards, we run courses up to a Silver award which is Level 2 on the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF). Each course is portfolio based and delivered at the pace of each student. All levels of qualifications are delivered across each of our arts and media forms and can be tailored for, or by the learner themselves.
Key Stage1: Discover – Introductory level
Key Stage 2: Explore –Entry Level 3
Key Stage 3: Bronze – Level 1
Key Stage 4: Silver – Level 2
As part of our staff team we have 2 Arts Award Advisors and an Education Manager who support the work of everyone on placement and who also work as or alongside support workers.
